Peace Fleece started in 1985 when Peter Hagerty and his wife Marty Tracy wanted to do their part to diffuse the threat of nuclear war so they began buying yarn from the Soviet Union. Since then, they have expanded their work to shepherds in Russia, Kyrgyzia, Israel and the West Bank, as well as in Montana, Ohio, Texas and Maine. Their goal is simple - "to find a common ground that slowly leads to mutual understanding and economic interdependence."
This worsted weight wool blend feels so earthy - the way wool should feel. It's an easy yarn to knit with, so it's great for beginners. This yarn would be perfect for a hat/mitten set. The colors are complex - many flecks of color that come together to make rich, interesting hues.
